About

Wildlife Artist and Wilderness Enthusiast

I have always been drawn to the natural world. From a young age, my life revolved around flora, fauna, and creativity, and that connection ultimately led me to Somerset, where I now live and work as a full-time wildlife artist surrounded by the landscapes that inspire me daily.

At the age of six, I announced my ambition to become the next David Attenborough. Unlike many childhood dreams, this one stayed with me. I went on to study Zoology at Royal Holloway, University of London, graduating with a BSc (Hons.) in 2017. Throughout my studies, art remained a constant presence—sometimes even threatening to pull me away from science entirely. After completing my degree, it became clear that academic work wasn’t where my future lay, and I returned to art with renewed excitement and purpose.

Following a few years in office roles, I took the leap into full-time art and moved to Somerset just before the pandemic. Since then, I have worked as a resident artist at The Yard at Rose Mills and later established my studio and gallery at Jordan’s Courtyard in Ilminster, where my practice continues to grow and thrive.

Thanks to the unwavering support of my parents and a determination to pursue every creative opportunity available to me, I was able to explore a wide range of media and subjects from an early age. My A-level work spanned themes such as climate change and wildlife conservation, as well as the centenary of the First World War. This spirit of experimentation even led to an unexpected accolade: in 2013, I was named the UK’s top Chinese calligrapher in a nationwide competition.

Over time, my artistic focus naturally settled on realistic, expressive oil paintings of the natural world. My background in zoology gives me an intimate understanding of animal physiology and behaviour, allowing me to create portraits that are not only accurate, but full of character and vitality. My aim is to capture the energy, movement, and quiet magic I experience in nature, and to pass that sense of wonder on to the viewer. In 2025, I was delighted to have my painting Winter Pheasants featured as a double-page spread in the December issue of Somerset Life magazine, and I hope to build on this with further publications and a full exhibition.

Most recently, my work has expanded to include a collection of paintings and drawings inspired by the trees and forests of Somerset. This body of work reflects my deep connection to the local landscape, and I am currently working towards my first solo exhibition later this year.
